Volunteering

In order to volunteer at HHoops in any capacity, you must have the following active clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Background Check.

HHoops uses Background Manager to track and save all volunteer records. Instructions on how to access Background Manager can be found below:

1. Go to https://www.backgroundmanager.com/
2. If you already have an existing BackgroundManager.com account, use your credentials to log in and upload your up-to-date clearances.
3. Follow the below steps if you DO NOT HAVE an existing BackgroundManager.com account:
   • Click the “Start Background Check” button at the top of the page.
   • On the “Get Started” tab, enter “H Hoops” into the Organization Code box, then click the “Start Background Check” button.
     • You can also click “Don’t Know Organization Code? Click Here” then select “H Hoops” from the drop-down.
   • On the “Account Type” tab, review and complete the three questions on the page, then click the “Next” button.
   • Enter your personal information on the “Basic Information” tab, then click the “Next” button.
   • On the “Upload Clearances” tab, upload your up-to-date clearances.
   • Complete the electronic signature and submit your application.

FBI Background Check: managed through Background Manager if you’ve been a PA resident for 10 consecutive years (otherwise you have to go to https://www.pa.gov/services/dhs/apply-for-an-fbi-criminal-history-background-check to complete)
